Connecting your store to everything else: Zapier, Make and n8n

Most AI workflows in a store are automation workflows with one AI step in the middle. A new order, review or support email comes in, a model drafts a reply or sorts it, and the result lands in a sheet, a helpdesk or a chat channel.

Three tools do most of that plumbing, and all three connect to Shopify and WooCommerce:

Zapier has the most ready-made app connections and is the quickest to start with: zapier.com

Make lays a workflow out as a diagram, which helps once it has branches and filters: make.com

n8n is open source and can run on your own server, so your customer data does not have to pass through anyone else's: n8n.io

Zapier and Make have free plans, and n8n is free to run yourself. Start with one boring, repetitive task, get the plumbing working, and only then add the AI step.

  1. Is there an easy way to tell what a workflow will cost per month before building it? Paying per task makes it hard to guess.
    1. Count how often it would run in a month (orders, reviews, emails, whatever starts it) and multiply by the number of steps after that. The plans charge by runs or by steps, so that number gets you close.
